Liza Meiris is a dedicated educator and civic engagement leader committed to empowering young people through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. With a strong focus on student leadership development, Liza collaborates closely with schools, community organizations, and civic partners to build programs that inspire participation, foster critical thinking, and strengthen democratic engagement. Known for her clarity, enthusiasm, and relationship-driven approach, Liza specializes in designing student-centered initiatives, facilitating workshops, and supporting youth-led projects that create real-world impact.
Her work emphasizes inclusivity, practical skill-building, and accessible pathways for students to take initiative in their communities. With over 20 years of experience teaching social studies, English, and math across North Philadelphia in public, private, and charter school settings, Liza has built a career grounded in both instructional excellence and student-centered leadership. She has served in multiple roles—including Department Head, Instructional Coach, Student Government Leader, and Student Activities Coordinator—each deepening her commitment to whole-student development and vibrant school communities. Liza holds a Bachelor’s in Secondary Education for History and a Master’s in Educational Leadership, both from Temple University.
