Marissa Friedman

Board Member

Marissa Friedman is a passionate educator and advocate for youth. Currently, she is an education strategy consultant at MGT (formerly Kitamba), supporting districts, nonprofit organizations, and foundations in setting and achieving ambitious goals to transform outcomes for their students. Through her work, she has partnered with systems serving more than 7 million students across the country. 

Before joining MGT, Marissa was a co-founder of PA Youth Vote, following her work as an Organizer with When We All Vote's My School Votes initiative in Philadelphia during the 2020 election. Marissa served as Chief of Staff to the Executive Director, helping to set up the systems and structures for long-term organizational success. Currently, in addition to her role as a PA Youth Vote Board Member, she also serves as a pro bono adviser to the Executive Director. Prior to her work with PA Youth Vote, she was the Assistant Director of the High School Voter Project through the University of Pennsylvania and led the development of middle school history curriculum for a network of charter schools in New York City.

Marissa holds an MSEd from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education and an A.B. in American History and Literature from Harvard University. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband and son.
