Simir Hampton (he/they) is a storyteller and a dreamer who was raised in Philadelphia with the discipline needed for success and the consciousness needed to empower. He loves to indulge in music because in its prime, it has the ability to wrap the listener into a world of validation and hope, and Simir plans to do the same with his voice. They’re a reader of Octavia Butler, James Baldwin, James Earl Hardy and his favorite, bell hooks. They give him the voice and inspiration to pluck not only his own heart strings but everyone else’s on command. Getting his dedication and passion from his big family, especially his mom, and his ideas and intellect from world leaders before him, he continues to instill hope in his peers as well as himself. He writes articles, short stories and poems, while also a contributor to PAYouthVote podcast. He’s a fresh breeze to embrace, and often, you’ll feel it in your first conversation with him.
